"Going to Bali without buying anything related to art look in completed. Bali totally inspires in the richness of its art and handcrafts. So we spent out time visit directly one of the master painter house maned I Wayan Mardiana in Batuan village. Actually, it's an original Bali house converted into a gallery. So, we can see in details of the lori gate, bale, kitchen and experience the journey from one space to another. The gallery simply explodes in colour with the most variety of painting. The work was magnificent and they are totally hand oil painted. So, we got one of their masterpiece for us to be hang on our living room. Don't ask how much we paid for the painting....but is cost us MILLION. The work left on frames and wrapped in corrugated cardboard and we checked in with our luggage, no problems.
Just as a reminder to be wary of paintings elsewhere even in Ubud as some are copies, some don't use oil paint'.
